Roscommon Golf Club was founded in 1904 and is set in spectacular parklands filled with mature sycamore, beech, whitethorn trees and ash trees. The course, which was designed by Eddie Connaughton, measures just under 7000 yards represents a tough test of golf, as is reflected by the fact that Roscommon has produced three full internationalists and a further seven internationalists at junior level over the past 20 years.
The clubhouse was completely destroyed by fire in May 1995 but a new facility was built its place. It has a modern spacious bar and restaurant looking over the first and 18th holes, as well as modern locker rooms.
