This is a gently rolling parkland course designed by Frank Ainsworth in 1992. It is one of many Irish courses that were constructed in the early 1990s and has won praise from various golfing quarters.
It's best characteristics are that its two sets of nine are refreshingly different from one another, both in playing style and appearance. The front nine has recently underdone a huge tree planting programme and in years to come will become a fairly tough test, especially from the tees.
The home ward stretch, however, has an abundance of trees to keep you on your guard.
