Situated nine miles north east of Belfast on the North Road, Carrickfergus is a challenging parkland layout with numerous water hazards. The course underwent major changes last summer with the introduction of four new greens professionally designed and built to USGA standard. The course is located in the midst of a well-developed area. The clubhouse and facilities for golfers are fantastic and there is even a balcony where members and visitors can (on a nice day) sit outside and take in unrivalled views of the course.
Accuracy is only way to succeed here, as many of the fairways are tight and guarded by rows of trees.
