Blackwood is a superb golfing venue located towards Bangor and not too far from Belfast. It features two courses, the championship standard 18-hole Hamilton Course and the shorter, par three 18-hole Temple Course.
It is a pay-and-play facility and visitors are more than welcome but golfing societies are advised to book well in advance. The Temple Course is a par three layout with the yardage of its hole ranging from 70 yards to 190 - the entire length of the course stretches to just 2, 492 yards for a full 18 holes. Heavy gorse lines a number of fairways while various burns criss-cross a number of holes on occasion.
