Blackwood is a superb golfing venue located towards Bangor and not too far from Belfast. It features two courses, the championship standard 18-hole Hamilton Course and the shorter, par three 18-hole Temple Course.
It is a pay-and-play facility and visitors are more than welcome but golfing societies are advised to book well in advance. The Hamilton Course is a relatively new parkland course that makes great use of existing mature woodland. Several man-made lakes have been added as hazards, which affect five of the holes. Don't expect an easy ride as this course stretches to 6, 337 yards and has a par of 71.
