The legendary course designer James Braid was the man who laid out the 18-hole course at Newlands Golf Club, which is located just six miles from Dublin City Centre. At 6352 yards, it's by no means a long course but you'll definitely need to be accurate round here as the fairways are very tight. The par-3s are crackers and you'll be faced with a tough putt on the undulating greens if you land in the wrong spot. The fifth hole, a dogleg which has out of bounds on the right, is probably the 'signature hole'. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are the best days for visitors at Newlands, where the clubhouse facilities include a bar and restaurant.
