Fascinating age-old records shows that golf has been played on the Heath since 1880. The club, however, was founded in 1930 and it remains one of only a handful of courses formed over open heathlands. The course incorporates three natural lakes and is noted for it's rough heather and gorse. It is a tough course and the abundance of gorse, trees and lakes make for a seemingly never-ending test of golf - it is a challenge that never wilts.
Stretching to 6, 696 yards from the back tees, it is, indeed, no walkover and a quick glance at the scorecard will back that up. There are plenty of great holes, although the 4th, 5th and 18th, all of which feature trees and water, are the pick of the bunch.
