Gweedore is another example of the exacting work of prolific Irish golf course designer Eddie Hackett. The course was founded in 1926 and is known locally as a superb example of everything that is good about seaside golf.
It is a testing links course that is well maintained by its team of greenkeepers and offers a variety of golf with tough par threes and a very tough par five. It's tough in parts, but certainly fair to all levels of golfer. A number of the holes are quite tricky and big hitters will find it easier to find trouble as most balls will bounce of the hard fairways and go off in any direction! That, however, is the expectation that comes with playing a great links course.
